Bank Muamalat Raya Shopping Spree with Underprivileged Children
Kuala Lumpur: To bring Raya cheer, more than 56 orphans and underprivileged children were treated to a shopping outing by Bank Muamalat today.
The children, from two orphanages, Baitun Nurrawdhah, Setiawangsa (26 kids) and Pertubuhan Kebajikan Nur Syaheera, Cheras (30 kids) were given RM3,000 for each house and RM250 for each child.
They went Hari Raya shopping with employees of Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad and spent about two hours shopping. They also had the opportunity to pick their own Hari Raya attire at the Lulu Hypermarket, Kuala Lumpur.
Accompanying them were Encik Khairul bin Kamarudin, Deputy CEO of Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad and Tuan Haji Peer Mohamed Ibramsha, Chief Operating Officer, Corporate Services of Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad.
Encik Khairul bin Kamarudin, Deputy CEO of Bank Muamalat said, “We are happy that this small contribution has helped bring more joy to the less fortunate children, with the upcoming Hari Raya celebrations. I’m touched to see the excitement in their faces and how their eyes brightened when picking up clothes that they like.”
Each staff was tasked with taking care of one or two child and provide assistance when shopping for Raya outfits. The children were excited and enjoyed the shopping experience, as volunteers made sure they got what they wished for, in the right size and preferred colour.
